About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Tax Professional to join our team as a Seasonal Business Tax Expert. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance and tax preparation services to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Complex Business Tax Returns: Prepare and file tax returns for Partnerships and S Corporations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal and state tax laws.
  • Provide Tax Advice and Guidance: Offer expert advice and guidance to customers on tax-related matters, utilizing your extensive knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
  • Utilize Commercial Tax Preparation Software: Leverage commercial tax preparation software to prepare and file tax returns, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
  • Document Customer Interactions: Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, including tax advice and guidance provided.
  • Meet Company Key Performance Metrics: Work towards meeting company key performance metrics and Big Bet Goals, ensuring exceptional customer service and experience.
Requirements
  • Strong Business Tax Preparation Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience preparing federal and state business tax returns (1065 and/or 1120-S) for at least 20 clients/customers per season.
  • Active Unrestricted Credential: Possess an active unrestricted credential, such as EA (Enrolled Agent), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), or Practicing Attorney.
  • Minimum of 2 Seasons of Personal Tax Preparation Experience: Minimum of 2 seasons of personal tax preparation experience, with a minimum of 30 tax returns per tax year in a tax practice or retail setting.
  • Bookkeeping Experience: Strongly preferred: bookkeeping experience with books to tax preparation.
  • Experience Preparing Business Tax Returns for Service Industry Customers: Strongly preferred: experience preparing business tax returns for service industry customers.
  • Related State Licenses, Certificates, Permits, or Bonds: Possess or be able to obtain any related state licenses, certificates, permits, or bonds.
  • Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN): Possess an active Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN).
  • Commitment to a Minimum Schedule: Commit to a minimum schedule of at least 20 hours/week (minimum 4 hour shift increments) throughout the tax season.
  • Working Knowledge of Circular 230: Possess a working knowledge of Circular 230.
  • Proficient with Technology: Proficient with technology, including computer operations and software.
  • Strong Customer Service Skills: Possess strong customer service skills, including the ability to interact with customers through video and audio tools in a professional, friendly, and confident manner.
  • Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills: Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, Research Skills, and Determination: Possess critical thinking, problem-solving, research skills, and determination.
  • Ability to Work in a Fast-Paced Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Dedicated Hardwired Internet Connection: Possess a dedicated hardwired internet connection that meets Intuit Security criteria and a quiet location in which to work.
