How We Work

When someone applies for life or disability insurance, a medical screening is often required. APPS works with insurance companies to ensure these screenings are conducted by independent contractors who maintain impartiality throughout the process.

Your Role as an Independent Contractor/Examiner

As an Independent Contractor/Examiner with APPS, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive health screenings at various locations convenient for your clients, such as their homes, workplaces, or our offices.

Responsibilities:

  • Obtain a detailed medical history from the client, including past illnesses, injuries, surgeries, and current medications.
  • Measure vital signs such as height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, and hip/waist circumference.
  • Collect blood and urine samples (occasionally saliva) using proper venipuncture techniques.
  • Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) when required; training will be provided if needed.
  • Prepare samples for shipping and submit all necessary paperwork accurately and promptly.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Pass a background check.
  • Possess a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance coverage.
  • Have a professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of human anatomy and medical terminology.
  • Be proficient in internet/computer skills.
  • Exhibit excellent organizational, communication, and time management abilities.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Work independently and responsibly.

Compensation:

Your reimbursement is based on the number of exams you complete. Reimbursement periods are bi-monthly.
