In the role of Financial Manager/Bookkeeper, you will be pivotal in supervising the financial activities of our organization. Your responsibilities will encompass comprehensive financial management, including bookkeeping, budgeting, financial reporting, and cash flow oversight. A keen eye for detail, robust analytical capabilities, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment will be crucial for the prosperity of our firm. The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in a process-oriented work style, demonstrate self-motivation, and exhibit a high level of accountability. This position requires a seasoned professional adept at interacting effectively with principals, clients, staff, vendors, and contractors.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and maintain precise financial records and management reports in collaboration with our CFO.
- Collaborate closely with our principals regarding financial matters.
- Oversee daily bookkeeping functions, including but not limited to:
- Accounts payable and receivable, invoice generation, and accurate payment application to projects.
- Payroll processing using QuickBooks or ADP.
- Job cost accounting for all financial transactions, including invoices, expenses, and payroll.
- Conduct bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Work in partnership with accountants, consultants, and principals on financial issues.
- Monitor and manage cash flow to guarantee sufficient funds for ongoing operations.
- Perform financial analysis and offer recommendations to enhance financial performance.
- Establish internal controls to mitigate fraud risk and ensure adherence to financial regulations and policies.
- Experience in the construction industry is preferred but not mandatory.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related discipline, or significant experience of 7-10 years.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks Enterprise/Construction/version.
- Strong grasp of financial management principles and practices.
- Detail-oriented with the capacity to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Comfortable working in a small office environment, with strong organizational and communication skills.
- May oversee additional office responsibilities as required.
- Notary certification is a plus.
