Principal Systems Engineer

Raytheon Careers is seeking a highly skilled Principal Systems Engineer to join our team. As a Principal Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for determining the requirements for products or systems based on customer information and providing traceability to these requirements.

- Decide how to capture those requirements in specific documents such as specifications and interface control documents.
- Ensure the requirements are clear, concise, understandable, and verifiable.
- Ensure that the source of requirements (i.e. Analysis, Trade Studies, etc) is documented and retrievable.
- Trace the flow of requirements between different parts of the program to ensure that all areas have the complete information appropriate to their activity.
- Ensure all requirement changes are assessed for impact to the overall system and subsystems and that implemented changes are tracked and controlled.
- Selected candidate will be required to obtain and maintain special access program (SAP) clearance.
- Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 8 years of EW/Radar systems design and requirements engineering experience.
- Experience with system lifecycle and product maturity (design reviews, internal gate reviews).
- Experience with requirements management and/or developing Systems Engineering products, such as System-level specifications, requirements allocation spreadsheets, or verification cross-reference matrices.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (Cameo Enterprise Architecture (SysML specifically), digital thread concepts, digital engineering, MBSE with DevSecOps).
- Experienced presenter preparing and presenting reports and briefings both orally and written.
- Experience with Modeling and Simulation, agile DevSecOps delivery pipelines, software development principals, Digital Thread concepts and realization in the development lifecycle.
- Experience with tools such as Matlab/Simulink, DOORS, DNG, Cameo, Jira, and Confluence.
- Earned Value Management / Cost Account Management experience.
- Active DoD Top Secret clearance with investigation within five years.

This position requires a security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. The salary range for this role is 105,000 USD - 221,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
