Job Title: Senior Gas Engineer

At NV Energy, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Gas Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Gas Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical engineering services to support the company's natural gas delivery system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, budget, develop, and design gas distribution system improvements and modifications.
  • Provide engineering and project management services for all phases of a project, including scoping, estimating, scheduling, design, preparation of construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Conduct economic analyses and feasibility studies for various gas system proposals.
  • Research, develop, and update design, material, and construction standards and processes for all types of gas distribution facilities.
  • Evaluate new technologies, materials, and work methods that may be added or incorporated into standards.
  • Analyze various operational technical issues to deliver sound, practical, cost-effective solutions to a wide variety of non-standard gas design, construction.
  • Investigate process and material failures, participate in root cause analysis investigations.
  • Provide professional customer service to both internal and external requestors.
  • Keep informed of industry trends, policies, technical issues, and best practices in order to recommend and implement changes to benefit gas delivery business.
  • Interact with industry peers to maintain and develop best practices applicable to construction and material standards and specifications.
  • Provide technical leadership, training, oversight, and direction to fellow staff members.
  • Ensure all decisions and recommendations are consistent with Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration Part 192 and NV Energy's Operations and Maintenance Manual, as well as applicable industry standard specifications.
  • Participate in after-hours emergency response program as a Duty Supervisor.
  • Ensure all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understands and complies with all policies, codes, and regulations applicable to position and company.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited school and 5 years of industry experience as a practicing engineer, and must be a licensed PE. If no PE license, then must have 8+ years as a practicing engineer.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of technical engineering aspects of company's gas delivery system; evaluate, select, and apply engineering techniques, criteria, and procedures; use sound judgment in making adaptations and modifications.
  • Skills such as analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making; oral and written communication; presentation; interpersonal and leadership; project management with high level of innovation, creativity, and ingenuity in situations requiring original and inventive approaches.
  • Learning and utilizing technical applications in support of design and analysis responsibilities.
Benefits:
  • Annual Salary: $100,700 (Min) to $118,400 (Mid); Up to 15% Short Term Incentive Plan target opportunity at the discretion of the company.
