The San Francisco office is seeking a Renewable Energy Specialist to fulfill the following responsibilities:
- Design Development: Create both conceptual and detailed designs for renewable energy systems tailored for commercial and industrial applications, focusing on solar photovoltaics (PV), microgrids, and battery energy storage systems (BESS).
- Analytical Proficiency: Conduct solar and battery performance analyses using software tools such as HelioScope, PVsyst, HOMER, and SAM.
- Technical Drafting: Generate solar and battery layouts utilizing Revit or AutoCAD, with a willingness to learn Revit.
- Utility Coordination: Assist in the completion of utility interconnection applications for new installations as necessary.
- Due Diligence: Perform thorough reviews of engineering designs and drawings, conduct energy yield assessments, and carry out feasibility analyses for microgrid and battery integration.
- Compliance Assurance: Ensure adherence to codes while designing, calculating, and selecting PV and BESS equipment.
- Field Investigations: Support site assessments, field measurements, and data collection activities.
- Construction Support: Review Requests for Information (RFI), oversee construction observations, and facilitate coordination for renewable energy systems.
- Proposal Development: Draft Energy Conservation Measure (ECM) descriptions for inclusion in proposals and present these proposals to clients during interviews.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain high-quality standards by obtaining QA/QC reviews and adhering to all quality procedures.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related energy/engineering field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in renewable or traditional energy projects at the building scale.
- EIT certification with the potential to obtain PE is preferred.
- Experience in modeling solar and battery performance using relevant software.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit.
- Familiarity with applicable building codes, including the National Electrical Code.
- Strong problem-solving skills, along with excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
