About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Athletic Trainer, Occupational Health Specialist to join our team at ProgressiveHealth. As an Industrial Athletic Trainer, you will play a critical role in providing injury prevention services and medical care to our clients in a dynamic work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide proactive injury prevention, injury care, assessment, and medical triage as defined by OSHA standards, including ergonomic postural education and/or escalation of medical care if needed.
  • Coordinate and implement rehabilitation treatment plans that incorporate therapeutic exercise, modalities, and work conditioning as necessary.
  • Provide ergonomic assessments and support by understanding the site operations, job processes, and physical demands in order to make ergonomic recommendations for the purposes of preventing more serious musculoskeletal conditions from occurring.
  • Patient assessment and treatment which includes medical triage, wound care, and medical checks (i.e. blood pressure, diabetic glucose checks).
  • Perform vision, hearing, and respiratory testing.
  • Collect and analyze urine samples.
  • Provide non-occupational and intramuscular injections as needed.
  • Emergency response when needed for acute medical or life-threatening events.
  • Provide medical advice, education, and resources.
  • Keep accurate, detailed documentation with efficiency while being able to provide feedback to the industrial athlete and client for continuous health improvements.
  • Understand and provide reports with key metrics to leadership, client partners, and operations management.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Kinesiology, or another related field and NATABOC certification.
  • The required state licensure, certification, and registration that is in good standing with the state or the ability to obtain the required state licensure.
  • CPR/AED certification or the ability to obtain it prior to start of employment; maintain and provide proof of current certification(s).
  • ACLS certification or the ability to obtain it prior to start of employment; maintain and provide proof of current certification(s).
  • Basic knowledge of workers' compensation and OSHA regulations, preferred.
  • The ability to stand, walk, and sit throughout entire assigned shift.
  • Previous ergonomic and/or occupational health experience is a plus.
  • A high degree of professionalism in both written and verbal communication.
  • The ability to work both independently and in a team environment, without constant supervision.
  • Be able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with databases and with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
