Job Summary

Emory Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Athletic Trainer to join our team. As an Athletic Trainer, you will provide athletic training services for Emory Orthopedics and Sports Medicine under the direction of a designated orthopedic physician.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide athletic training services for Emory Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, including evaluation and treatment of medical and musculoskeletal pathology.
  • Conduct thorough medical histories and physical examinations on patients, including range of motion testing, strength testing, sensation testing, palpation, functional testing, ligamentous testing, and special tests as needed.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients, including exercise instruction and demonstration, and answering patient questions regarding treatment plans, surgery, rehabilitation, and future care.
  • Prepare and assist physicians with injection procedures, provide proper post-operative wound care and education, and remove sutures and dressings as directed by the attending physician.
  • Attend educational programming offered by Emory Sports Medicine, including journal club, case studies, and Emory/SEATA annual symposium.
Requirements
  • Nationally certified athletic trainer (ATC).
  • Georgia state licensure.
  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related profession.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the use of relevant medical terminology.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association.
