Position Overview

As a vital member of the operations team, the selected candidate will work closely with technical personnel, business units, corporate technology, and engineering advisors to deliver process engineering expertise. The Process Engineer should possess a hands-on approach and a strong focus on data analysis, demonstrating the ability to collaborate effectively with operators, maintenance crews, scheduling teams, and other cross-functional groups. This role includes training and qualifying as a Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt, actively promoting Lean Six Sigma methodologies within the operations.

Core Responsibilities
  • Engage regularly with operators on the production floor to enhance, optimize, and resolve process issues.
  • Assist in new product initiatives by coordinating production trials and troubleshooting challenges.
  • Provide support for the Distributed Control System (DCS) (Delta-V).
  • Maintain and update Process and Production Data collection systems (SAP and other database platforms).
  • Standardize operational conditions and minimize process and measurement variability.
  • Apply Lean/Six Sigma methodologies to drive enhancements in processes and projects.
  • Conduct and utilize the Management of Change (MOC) process to document and oversee process modifications.
  • Initiate and promote cost-saving measures in production.
  • Ensure plant compliance with safety and environmental regulations, including OSHA, PSM, RMP, and other company policies.
  • Lead and contribute to both capital and non-capital improvement initiatives across the site.
  • Exhibit project management capabilities, including the Stage-Gate process.
  • Guide and participate in quality and process disruption investigations, including root cause analysis.
  • Develop and implement enhancements in the quality control processes and systems.
  • Support optimal performance across multiple production processes.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering is required.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in a manufacturing setting (preferably in the chemical sector).
  • Experience in process safety and high-hazard environments is preferred.
