Job Title: Supervisor - Operations Stability Support

As a Supervisor - Operations Stability Support, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliable operation of the electric power grid in compliance with NERC Standards, ERCOT Protocols, and Market Guides.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team to support real-time stability assessment in the operation horizon, including online TSAT and dynamic event analysis and model validation.
  • Work with various technical teams to ensure technical content of operations activities and procedures are reviewed and maintained.
  • Coordinate and interface with other Ercot team members and market participants to ensure reliable operation of the ERCOT Grid.
  • Attend market, technical, and industry meetings as required.
Additional Job Duties:
  • Schedule work for employees and provide on-the-job training as needed.
  • Supervise and provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring, including performance appraisals and other management responsibilities.
  • Lead a team to review and maintain TSAT models, develop and maintain online TSAT scenarios.
  • Lead a team to perform post-dynamic event analysis and dynamic model validation using PMU and/or DFR data.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for ERCOT Guides and Protocols and NERC Standards for Operations Stability.
  • Coordinate with other Ercot teams and market participants to improve dynamic models and interconnection processes.
  • Provide operations analysis and reports, both written and oral.
  • Provide operations engineering support for other Ercot support personnel as required.
  • Formulate recommendations for changes to ERCOT Protocols and Guides.
  • Support Ercot by working with various Ercot subcommittees, working groups, and task forces.
  • Represent Ercot on Ercot and industry committees, subcommittees, working groups, and task forces as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (required).
  • Master's Degree: Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in planning or system operations, in addition to degree requirements stated above.
  • Knowledgeable in dynamic modeling of power systems, especially inverter-based resources (required).
  • Experience with TSAT or PSSE dynamic simulation (preferred).
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a leadership or supervisory role (preferred).
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Texas (preferred).
Work Location:

Taylor, TX. Employees will be required to be on-site in Taylor, TX at minimum 2 days per week, or more, as needed based on business needs as determined by management. On-site schedules are flexible or may be rotated based on business needs as determined by the Manager. Remote work is required to be performed from your Texas residence. Employees may opt to work on-site more than required or 100% of the time.
