Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiologic Imaging Specialist to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for performing radiologic imaging procedures for patients from various facilities, ensuring the highest level of quality and patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Imaging Services: Receive and interpret physicians' orders for radiologic imaging, schedule patients for radiographic studies, and coordinate with nursing staff to ensure preparatory procedures have been performed.
  • Quality Control: Inspect and review exposed film for technical quality, repeat x-rays as needed, and ensure minimum patient exposure and proper processing of films.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain schedules for delivery of supplies and preventative maintenance of equipment, ensuring all x-ray and processing equipment is working properly.
  • Administrative Functions: Perform administrative tasks, such as scheduling advanced imaging studies, maintaining patient files, and ensuring compliance with TDH and TCID retention policies and procedures.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, attendants, staff, and employees at other healthcare facilities, ensuring optimal patient care and satisfaction.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge and Skills: Possess knowledge of performance improvement procedures, TDH policies, and radiology department procedures, as well as skills in operation and care of x-ray and processing equipment.
  • Education and Certification: Hold a degree in radiologic technology or a related field and be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Working Conditions:

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to radiation and potentially hazardous materials. The successful candidate must be able to lift and move equipment, as well as stand for extended periods.
