Job Overview

Reports to: Food & Beverage Supervisor

Position Summary:

The Culinary Assistant plays a vital role in supporting restaurant servers by ensuring that food plates are accurately prepared before they leave the kitchen. This position involves transporting food items to designated tables and assisting with cleanup tasks when time permits. A positive attitude and a friendly demeanor towards guests and team members are essential while performing these duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all applicable Tribal, Federal, and gaming regulations, as well as Kickapoo Lucky Eagle policies and procedures.
  • Provide exceptional guest service by attentively listening and responding to inquiries and concerns from guests and team members.
  • Efficiently deliver food orders to customers with precision.
  • Check in with patrons to ensure their dining experience meets expectations.
  • Communicate feedback regarding customer satisfaction to management and relevant personnel.
  • Ensure that guests have all necessary tableware to enjoy their meals.
  • Address various spontaneous requests from customers.
  • Serve as the liaison between Front of House and Back of House staff.
  • Embody and promote the core values and skills of KLECH.
  • Safeguard confidential information entrusted to this role.
  • Complete all required training as assigned.
  • Monitor compliance with Federal currency transaction reporting requirements and established Anti-Money Laundering policies.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Experience in the restaurant industry is preferred.
  • Background in guest service is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in Spanish or other languages is a plus.

Additional Criteria:

Preference is given to qualified members of the Kickapoo Traditional Tribe of Texas and other qualified Native Americans.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to stand, sit, walk, push, pull, and bend for extended periods.
  • Must be able to concentrate for prolonged periods.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
  • Effective communication skills are necessary, both in person and via telecommunications.
  • Must possess the dexterity to operate various equipment.
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 30 lbs.
  • Physical stamina to carry heavy trays and stand for long durations.

Work Environment:

  • Typical restaurant/kitchen setting and casino floor.
  • Temperature-controlled environment with varying noise levels.
  • Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to perform under pressure and manage stressful conditions.
  • May encounter challenging situations with difficult guests and staff.
  • Exposure to various lighting conditions, including artificial and flashing lights.
  • Travel may be necessary to fulfill essential job functions.

Employment Conditions:

  • Must obtain and retain a KTTT Gaming Commission License, including passing a background check.
  • Must provide authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Reliable transportation is required for commuting.
  • Compliance with KLEC handbook and gaming regulations is mandatory.
  • Participation in the tip reporting program is required for tipped positions.
