ROLE SUMMARY:
The Community Life Services Coordinator plays a pivotal role in the strategic planning and execution of a diverse array of activities and educational initiatives aimed at fulfilling the objectives of LCS Lifestyles & Health Services, as well as the 8 Dimensions of Wellness. This position requires close collaboration with residents, their families, and staff to curate a rich variety of activities and events that foster social interaction and enhance overall well-being.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and oversee a comprehensive schedule of activities and events, including discussion forums, clubs, personalized engagements, cultural experiences, outings, and special performances.
- Conduct interviews with residents to evaluate individual preferences and needs for customized recreational programs.
- Facilitate Resident Council and family gatherings to discuss specific interests and educational prospects.
- Ensure accurate documentation of residents' progress and feedback regarding programs in the EMR system.
- Manage the inventory of activity supplies and equipment, ensuring they are well-maintained and clean.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A Bachelor’s degree, ideally in Therapeutic Recreation.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a social or recreational program within a healthcare environment is preferred.
- CPR certification or a commitment to obtain certification.
- Experience in Assisted Living or Memory Care settings is advantageous.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position necessitates frequent standing, bending, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. The role also requires the capacity to assist residents in wheelchairs. Exposure to various conditions, including communicable diseases and industrial chemicals, may occur.
