Nursing Assistant Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nursing Assistant to join our team at the Veterans Health Administration. As a Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our nursing staff in the Community Living Center.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide personal nursing care to patients, including vital sign checks, specimen collection, and supporting diagnostic testing.
  • Assist licensed nursing staff in the care of patients, including those with complex needs.
  • Participate in the admission process, collecting information and orienting patients to the unit.
  • Identify and meet the needs of patients for information and guidance in daily living.
  • Accurately and efficiently describe and report all subtle behavioral changes and interactions among patients and staff.
Requirements:
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or one year of specialized experience as a nursing assistant.
  • Must be able to work all tours, including weekends and holidays.
