Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist to join our team at Preferred Primary Care Physicians. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, administrative support, and clinical assistance in a fast-paced medical office setting.
Key Responsibilities- Assist physicians and nurses with patient care, clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks
- Escort patients to and from exam or treatment rooms as appropriate
- Record all patient data prior to the physician or nurse seeing the patient
- Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections as directed by the physician
- Answer and return patient phone calls as directed
- Obtain all necessary patient record information, lab data, diagnostics, consults, etc. as required by the physician or nurse for assessment of the patient's medical status
- Obtain blood specimens from peripheral sites as needed in accordance with OSHA and universal safety precautions
- Assist with exams and procedures as requested
- Assist with scheduling tests, procedures, or appointments to follow-up on test results
- Prepare, maintain, and stock exam and treatment rooms
- Order supplies as needed
- Obtain new patient information and any test results
- Assist with administrative duties such as typing, faxing, reception duties, etc.
- Process instruments and equipment as needed
- Inform physician of patient reschedule or no-shows
- Assist with delegated patient education activities including but not limited to distributing educational literature, etc.
- Maintain the strictest confidentiality
- Perform other duties as assigned by the physician, nurse, or office manager
- A high school diploma or GED is required
- Graduate from an accredited school of medical assistant
- Six (6) months of medical assistant experience in a medical practice setting preferred, however open to new graduate applicants
