Overview

This role involves engineering aspects related to the manufacturing workflow. The individual will oversee the planning and execution of departmental operations, focusing on the implementation of professional activities within a technical domain. While operating with a degree of independence, the position is guided by established policies and the review of outcomes. The role permits adjustments to procedures and practices as long as the final results align with quality, volume, and timeliness standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and manage production workflows, including tooling and equipment. Validate design specifications and ensure effective application of new products, tools, or equipment on the shop floor.
  • Define essential processes, IT tools, training programs, and value streams for the manufacturing community.
  • Possess experience in warehouse and logistics management.
  • Implement project controls and master scheduling methodologies.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Open Plan, including coding and report generation.
  • Manage critical path activities effectively.
  • Develop and maintain schedules at the material, engine, and program levels.
  • Coordinate receiving and kitting operations.
  • Have experience in engine assembly and instrumentation scheduling.
  • Oversee load management for lines of business or cells.
  • Create, maintain, and report on schedules for assembly, integration, and testing.
  • Provide training on scheduling concepts within Open Plan applications.
  • Act as an Open Plan system administrator.
  • Facilitate and expedite material flow in accordance with production schedules, planning material and production requirements. This role impacts departmental operations and is responsible for planning and execution within established functional practices and procedures.
  • Develop and implement master planning, material processes, and systems. Prepare and update production schedules and purchasing requirements while ensuring alignment with operational goals and KPIs. Optimize inventory levels and drive process improvements.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills, both oral and written. Demonstrate the ability to analyze and resolve issues effectively. Capable of documenting, planning, marketing, and executing programs with established project management skills.
  • Utilize software tools such as Oracle, GPS, Impact, CAS, Open Plan, and various access databases, with particular expertise in Open Plan. This role will also interface with government property activities, including inventory management and reconciliation.
  • Possess knowledge of best practices and understand how the area of responsibility integrates with other functions. Stay informed about competitors and market differentiators.
  • Exercise judgment and propose alternative solutions to address complex manufacturing processes that involve technical variety and interdependent production cycles. Utilize technical expertise and analytical thinking, drawing from multiple internal and limited external sources to inform decisions.
  • Serve as a resource for less experienced colleagues. May lead small-scale projects with manageable risks and resource needs. Communicate information clearly and develop skills to guide team members toward consensus on relevant topics.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, materials, or program management, including at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Willingness and ability to obtain US government security clearance.
