Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Operations Supervisor to join our team at Hillenbrand. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for supervising the production team, adhering to established production schedules, and maintaining manufacturing efficiency and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise the Production Team: Develop, maintain, and motivate an effective workforce by supervising the production team.
  • Adhere to Production Schedules: Adhere to established production schedules and maintain manufacturing efficiency and quality against established standards.
  • Improve Product Quality: Recommend means of improving product quality in cooperation with the Quality Assurance Department.
  • Identify Opportunities for Improvement: Identify opportunities for improvement and recommend ways of increasing productivity through improved methods, equipment, or other means.
  • Comply with Safety Regulations: Maintain safe working conditions in accordance with company and governmental safety regulations and codes.
  • Assist in Budget Preparation: Assist in the preparation of budgets and adhere to authorized budgets.
  • Support Product Development: Support product development and design activities, and expedite and coordinate prototype testing as required.
  • Participate in Lean/Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in lean/continuous improvement activities to improve Company processes and products.
Team and Qualifications

You will be part of a supervisory team consisting of 5 on 1st shift, 2 on 2nd shift, plus EHS & Maintenance Leader and Fabrication Manager. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) or equivalent from a college or university in business, operations, or other related field, and a minimum of 2 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience with an emphasis in operations management and production supervision.

Intermediate Microsoft Office skills and intermediate level communication skills are also required. Basic experience in a manufacturing environment and working knowledge of an ERP system (Great Plains preferred) are preferred qualifications.
