Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Insurance Verification Specialist to join our team at MedShip. The successful candidate will be responsible for verifying insurance coverage and eligibility for patients seeking post-operative wound care services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for patients seeking post-operative wound care services.
  • Obtain and document necessary patient information, including insurance details and medical history.
  • Communicate with healthcare providers to obtain necessary documentation for insurance claim submissions.
  • Ensure all insurance claims are submitted accurately and timely.
  • Follow up on insurance claims and work to resolve any billing issues that may arise.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare providers.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, associate or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience required, preferably in medical insurance verification or medical billing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with medical billing software and Microsoft Office Suite, preferred.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.

Working Conditions: The Insurance Verification Specialist will work in an office environment and be required to sit for extended periods of time. The candidate may need to occasionally work outside of normal business hours to ensure timely insurance claim submissions.
