We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our team at Satellite Shelters, Inc. | Satellite Industries, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth movement of materials throughout our manufacturing and warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities- Material Handling: Safely operate a lift truck, including daily inspection and reporting of any issues, to transport materials within the warehouse and manufacturing areas.
- Receiving and Storage: Unload inbound freight and store materials in designated areas, including bulk and stock rooms, after verifying accuracy and completeness.
- Inventory Management: Participate in the receiving process, counting and verifying pack slips, and entering data into our inventory management system.
- Supply Chain Support: Supply and move materials required by manufacturing operations, including raw materials, formed parts, work-in-progress, and storage.
- Shipping and Logistics: Prepare LTL shipments according to pick lists, package materials properly to prevent damage, and assist with manual loading of knockdown trucks and unit shipments.
- Equipment Maintenance: Respond to demand lights to minimize equipment downtime, notify supervisors of quality issues or damaged product, and maintain a clean lift truck.
- Team Support: Manually move materials as needed to assist various employees, maintain pull cards according to instructions, and perform other tasks as requested by supervisors.
- Lift Truck License: Must pass and maintain a valid lift truck license.
- Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and visually identify colors.
- Communication: Complete production paperwork legibly and use data entry devices as required.
- Equipment Operation: Refill propane tanks for lift trucks and use hand tools, such as box knives, banders, stretch wrap, drills, and routers.
This role operates in a manufacturing and warehouse setting, exposing the employee to varying temperatures and noise levels. The successful candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and follow all safety protocols, including the use of hearing protection when necessary.
