Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Project Engineer to lead our Engine Control Systems team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and testing of advanced engine control systems. Your expertise in mechanical controls and actuation will be instrumental in driving project success and ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead cross-functional teams to design, develop, and test engine control systems
  • Oversee the implementation of Collins Management Systems (CMS) and Integrated Product Development (IPD) Team process
  • Coordinate requirement flow down, design definition, design reviews, hardware fabrication, and validation
  • Prepare and maintain project plans, budgets, and staffing requirements
  • Oversee the preparation of FAR 15 compliant proposals
  • Manage and resolve all supplier interfacing activities
  • Drive and implement Relentless Root Cause & Corrective Action (RRCA) processes
  • Monitor and assess project risks and opportunities
Requirements
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations
  • Minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with valves, actuators, and mechanical components
  • Ability to apply mechanical/hydro-mechanical principles to analyze hardware, recommend corrective actions, conduct engineering investigations, and develop/conduct tests
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and MS Project tools
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
