Job Title: Product Specialist Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Specialist Engineer to join our Collins Aerospace Power & Controls Supplier Designed Equipment (SDE) engineering team in Windsor Locks, CT.

Job Summary:

The Product Specialist Engineer will serve as a technical advisor, bringing expertise to mentor Integrated Product Teams (IPT's) in crafting exceptional designs. You will collaborate with Collins project engineers, supplier engineers, and customers to ensure the creation of robust and optimized electrical harness designs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Development and review of system concepts and design requirements
  • Review of component interface documents and supplier manufacturing drawings
  • Evaluation of development and certification test procedures and reports
  • Oversight of design and qualification processes
  • Support for investigating issues identified during service or engine tests
  • Implementation of CORE Tools and processes to ensure robust RCCA
  • Assessment of supplier technical capabilities
  • Assistance in cost and weight reduction initiatives
  • Support for process improvement activities and Engineering Standard Work
  • Alignment of supplier technology readiness with Collins' advanced control systems plans
Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Experience in harness design, manufacturing, and installation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams in developing cutting-edge technical products and solutions.
  • Experience in the Aerospace and Defense Industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite including, VISIO, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Familiarity with Zuken E3 harness design tool.
