Job Overview

Zobility is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Windsor Locks, CT.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the establishment of a propeller system major inspection interval and required activities, collaborating with other propeller functional groups.
  • Support the development and continued operation of Propeller components, including actuators, hubs, transfer tubes, and control components.
  • Design mechanical components and assemblies with an emphasis on manufacturability, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Support manufacturing with non-conformances and troubleshooting assembly/testing issues.
  • Generate reports for engineering work performed based on analysis and test activities.
  • Interact with internal customers, external customers, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Participate in internal and external product design engineering teams and reviews.
  • Coordinate and work regularly with engineering teams in Windsor Locks, CT, and Figeac, France, as well as MROs and program offices.
  • Occasional domestic and international travel required to support maintainers, suppliers, customers, and aircraft operators.
Requirements
  • Aerospace experience.
  • Project engineering experience.
  • Experience providing manufacturing support and/or in-service engineering support for maintenance activities.
  • Experience with Siemens NX/Unigraphics or similar CAD software.
  • Experience with designing mechanical assemblies with standard parts (seals, screws, bearings, plugs, and pins).
  • Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 (GD&T dimensioning and tolerancing).
  • Experience in the use of typical Microsoft Office programs.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Aerospace experience.
  • Project engineering experience.
