Job Opportunity

We are seeking a part-time academic lecturer to join our team at the College of Information Sciences and Technology at Penn State University Park. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching relevant introductory and advanced courses in one or more of the following areas:

Cybersecurity Analytics and Operations
  • Cybersecurity fundamentals, including threat analysis and mitigation
  • Information security, including risk management and compliance
  • Applied cryptography, including encryption and decryption techniques
  • Systems security, software security, and network security
  • Malware analysis and software reverse engineering
  • Penetration testing and vulnerability assessment
  • Network traffic analysis and intrusion detection
Data Sciences
  • Data management for data sciences, including data warehousing and data mining
  • Privacy and security for data sciences, including data protection and compliance
  • Machine learning for data analytics, including predictive modeling and data visualization
  • Data integration, including data fusion and data quality
  • Visual analytics for data sciences, including data storytelling and communication
  • Applied data sciences, including data-driven decision making and business intelligence
Enterprise Technology Integration
  • Development for enterprise web technologies, including web development and deployment
  • Organizational and project management, including Agile methodologies and Scrum
  • Database management and administration, including database design and optimization
  • Systems and enterprise integration, including integration with cloud-based services
  • Advanced database design and management, including data modeling and data warehousing
Human-Centered Design and Development
  • Introductory, intermediate, and advanced programming in Java, including object-oriented programming and software design
  • Programming for the web, including web development and deployment
  • Programming for mobile applications, including mobile app development and deployment
  • Software design and development, including user-centered design and human-computer interaction
  • Interaction design and development, including user experience and user interface design

The ideal candidate will possess a master's degree or equivalent experience and education, and be committed to teaching learners at all levels and from all backgrounds. Preference will be given to prior teaching experience and professional experience in a relevant area.
