Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Crushing Plant Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Helena Sand & Gravel, a CRH company. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining our crushing plants to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze malfunctions and repair, rebuild, and maintain crushing plants.
  • Operate and inspect machines and equipment to diagnose defects.
  • Dismantle and reassemble equipment using hoists, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges.
  • Replace defective parts, assemble, and sub-assemble as needed.
  • Weld broken parts and structural members using cutting torch and welding equipment.
  • Direct workers engaged in cleaning parts and assisting with assembly and disassembly of equipment.
  • Demonstrate skills in basic fabrication.
  • Service and grease plant parts, including changing belts, greasing bearings, and maintaining cleanliness of plants.
  • Order and maintain inventory of plant parts, grease, asphalt oil, etc.
  • Perform recording keeping of time and parts used on appropriate forms.
  • Perform general cleaning of work areas and maintenance areas.
  • Assist other maintenance department staff in performing duties necessary to assure efficiency of operations of all plants.
  • Assist other departments as assigned to meet business needs.
  • Promptly communicate with supervisors on any flaws in material.
  • Take action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions.
  • Regular and timely attendance.
  • Participate in and promote an inclusive work environment.
Requirements
  • Mechanical skills, including knowledge of machines, tools, equipment, mechanic's hand tools, power tools, welding and cutting equipment, lubricating tools, hoists, cranes, service trucks, diagnostic testing, electrical testing, and/or mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Safety-minded professional who demonstrates good performance, attendance, and punctuality.
  • Must pass pre-employment physical exam and pre-employment controlled substance testing.
  • Demonstrate ability to work overtime and weekends/holidays as needed.
  • Demonstrate ability to conform to and maintain OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and all other company or state rules and regulations.
  • Must have current US Authorization to work or ability to obtain without company assistance prior to start date.
