Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Nurse Supervisor to join our Skilled Nursing Healthcare and Assisted Living/Memory Support Teams at Fort Norfolk Retirement Community, Inc. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of long-term care nursing experience and at least three years of nursing supervisory experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise delivery of excellent nursing care by staff, ensuring accurate, timely treatment, medication administration, and documentation, in compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Provide direct care of residents as needed, conduct admissions and discharges, and ensure timely and accurate treatment, medication administration, and documentation.
  • Conduct nursing audits, including weekly chart audits, monthly summaries, and other audits as assigned in the Healthcare and AL/MS units.
  • Make rounds on all care units to ensure staffing patterns are adequate per census/state regulations and that members of the healthcare staff are compliant with providing resident care per Harbor's Edge policy and procedures and state/federal regulations.
  • Participate in variety of resident care meetings, including care plan and family meetings with members of the interdisciplinary team.
Requirements
  • Current Virginia RN license required.
  • At least five years of progressively responsible nursing experience in the Assisted Living/Memory Support and/or Long-Term Care with at least three years of supervisory/Lead experience required.
  • Valid Adult CPR, BLS/AED Certification required.
  • Strong leadership skills required, as demonstrated by the ability to successfully work well with multiple levels of staff and leadership.
  • Must demonstrate excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Must be able to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public.
  • Must demonstrate a genuine desire to work with the elderly and/or disabled.
