Position Overview
Leidos is in search of a Windows / Linux System Administrator possessing an active TS/SCI clearance to enhance our operations. This role is pivotal in delivering specialized Cyber Security and Information Technology (IT) support for critical IT resources and users, facilitating Scientific and Technical Intelligence (S&TI) analysis and production.
As an integral member of the Systems Administration team, your responsibilities will include managing and supporting specialized mission IT systems, which encompass high-performance workstations across various Windows and Linux platforms. You will also handle additional equipment that may consist of advanced exploitation systems and laboratory apparatus such as microscopes, X-ray machines, network analyzers, and various modeling and simulation tools.
Your daily tasks will significantly influence operational outcomes, assisting in the deployment and utilization of the latest technologies while developing innovative solutions to complex challenges that may not be immediately apparent. This role presents a unique opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team committed to impactful work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux mission systems along with their associated hardware.
- Build, troubleshoot, and manage VMWare virtual machines within a Dell Blade cluster environment.
- Oversee system infrastructures, implement best practices, and recommend specifications for system functionality, including physical and virtual configurations, backup and recovery processes, and critical patch management.
- Administer high availability and various storage technologies, including NETAPP Enterprise storage devices and NAS.
- Configure Cisco switches and routers for diverse networks, including internal VLAN setups and secure WAN connections.
- Collaborate across IT domains and multiple teams, influencing leadership on solution design and ensuring all systems meet mission requirements.
- Utilize system monitoring tools to assess vulnerabilities across servers and desktops.
- Occasional travel may be required within the local area.
Basic Qualifications:
- Active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance.
- Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with 10+ years of experience. Additional experience may substitute for formal education.
- Active IAT Level II DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification (e.g., Security+ CE) or the ability to obtain it shortly after acceptance.
- 7+ years of experience in configuring and maintaining Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Linux systems.
- Practical experience in ensuring security compliance using STIGs and ACAS across various systems.
- Proficiency in Storage Area Networks and related technologies.
- Comprehensive knowledge of CISCO router and switch configuration and troubleshooting.
- Strong aptitude for administration tasks, including installations, configurations, and migrations, complemented by excellent problem-solving skills.
- Effective collaboration and communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Cybersecurity or Information Technology.
- Experience with rack-mounted server hardware and large data center operations.
- Certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP).
