Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including vital sign monitoring, medication administration, and phlebotomy.
  • Work with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care and prioritize tasks.
  • Recognize and report abnormal laboratory values and life-threatening medical problems.
  • Perform phlebotomy, CPR, injections, and other skills within the scope of practice.
  • Utilize computerized patient care systems to document patient information and communicate with the healthcare team.
Requirements
  • Possess a license issued by the State of CA Board of Vocational Nurse Examiners with IV therapy and blood withdrawal certification.
  • Hold BLS/CPR certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in computer skills, Windows computer function, and computer navigation.
  • Knowledge of safety requirements when handling biohazardous specimens or contaminated instruments.
  • Interpersonal skills to maintain a cooperative working environment with the healthcare team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of instruments and supplies to perform physical examinations and/or procedures.
  • 6+ months of LVN experience.
