Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant Director, Education Supervisor to join our team at South Middlesex Opportu. This role is responsible for assisting the Framingham Center Director with the day-to-day management of the center and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage operational and fiscal activities, including staffing levels, budgets, and financial goals.
  • Recruit, manage, develop, and evaluate staff, providing timely mentoring, training, and performance management.
  • Provide a safe and healthy learning environment, building relationships and a culture of trust and teamwork.
  • Ensure all staff follow SMOC, Head Start, and EEC policies and procedures.
  • Train staff on best practices, behavior management techniques, and mandated reporting.
  • Prepare and maintain children and staff files to meet Head Start Performance Standards and EEC Licensing.
  • Directly supervise teaching staff, including monthly observations and reflective supervision.
  • Maintain CLASS certification and monitor classroom paperwork.
  • Facilitate and document monthly staff meetings and individual child/family meetings.
  • Develop and maintain quality curriculum and programming.
  • Ensure a safe environment for children at all times.
  • Coordinate delivery of transportation, health, special education, family, and food/nutrition services.
  • Responsible for ordering educational supplies and equipment and maintaining facility.
  • Assist with re-licensing and NAEYC accreditation.
  • Engage clients by understanding and addressing their needs.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client, employee, and agency information.
  • Ensure compliance with program, agency, and funder requirements.
Requirements
  • BA Degree in Early Education, preferred or working towards.
  • EEC Director II Certification.
  • Thorough understanding of EEC licensing regulations, NAEYC Accreditation Process, and HS Standards.
  • Understanding of low-income families, single parent families, working parents, and families in crisis.
  • Previous experience in supervising staff in early education settings or significant experience as Lead Teacher.
Working Conditions

This role requires direct or incidental contact with clients served by SMOC in various programs. A successful background check is required.
