We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Prepared Foods Order Coordinator to join our team at Whole Foods Market. As a key member of our prepared foods department, you will be responsible for purchasing and replenishing food products, monitoring inventory control, and participating in regional programs for purchasing and promotions.
Key Responsibilities- Purchasing and Replenishment: Purchase and replenish food products for preparation through proper buying procedures, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Inventory Control: Monitor and act upon open PO reports for both purchases and credits, controlling spoilage and shrink, and achieving turn goals.
- Customer Service: Assist with counter service and cooking as scheduled or as necessary, providing excellent customer service and addressing customer needs in a timely and effective manner.
- Communication: Communicate with kitchen managers, chefs, and team leaders on ordering needs and issues, maintaining positive working relationships with vendors.
- Financial Management: Maintain financial profitability by meeting and exceeding purchasing and sales targets, working with team leaders or assistant team leaders to cost recipes.
- Store Operations: Arrive to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed, and ready to work, performing opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned, ensuring accuracy of signs and pricing.
- Health and Safety: Follow and comply with established procedures, including weights and measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices, maintaining a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment.
- Education and Experience: 1+ years of buying/merchandising experience, with a strong understanding of product knowledge, including production, distribution, seasonal availability, advances, and trends.
- Skills and Abilities: Extensive product knowledge, ability to create and negotiate price bids, strong basic math skills, knowledge and ability to use computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and ordering systems, strong communication skills, and ability to work as part of a team.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand/walk 6-8 hours in an 8-hour work day, hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling, work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching, exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals, temperatures: 90 degrees Fahrenheit, and ability to work in wet and dry conditions.
