Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Team Leader to join our Prepared Foods team at Whole Foods Market. As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for assisting the Team Leader in all aspects of daily operations, including profitability, expense control, buying, merchandising, labor, regulatory compliance, and special projects. You will also be responsible for leading and developing Team Members, ensuring a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and Team Members at all times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Excellence: Assist the Team Leader in achieving sales, purchasing, and labor targets, and maintain a high level of operational excellence in the Prepared Foods department.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop Team Members, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance evaluations to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.
  • Customer Service: Ensure that customers receive exceptional service, responding promptly to their needs and questions, and maintaining a positive and welcoming store environment.
  • Inventory Management: Assist the Team Leader in managing inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stocking products, and maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all regulatory requirements are met, including food safety and sanitation standards, and maintain accurate records of compliance.
Requirements
  • Experience: 18+ months retail Team Member experience and 6+ months of supervisory experience.
  • Skills: Excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and customer relationship skills, with the ability to teach others in a positive and constructive manner.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift 50 pounds, stand/walk for 6-8 hours, and work in a fast-paced environment.
