Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Bakery Order Writer to join our team at Whole Foods Market. As a key member of our bakery team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our bakery department, including ordering, inventory management, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage bakery inventory levels, including ordering and receiving products, to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize waste.
  • Process customer orders and special requests in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the bakery team to maintain a clean and organized store environment, adhering to Whole Foods Market's high standards for quality and safety.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving any issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Assist with visual merchandising and display of bakery products, ensuring a visually appealing and inviting store environment.
  • Participate in inventory management and control, including monitoring stock levels, identifying trends, and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products.
  • Stay up-to-date with product knowledge, including ingredients, nutritional information, and allergens, to provide accurate and helpful information to customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management, including opening and closing procedures, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
Requirements
  • 12+ months retail experience, preferably in a bakery or food service environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse team and customer base.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods, with frequent bending, twisting, and reaching.
  • Basic math skills and accuracy in handling cash and operating a point-of-sale system.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
Working Conditions

This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to cleaning chemicals, temperatures up to 90°F, and occasional use of heavy machinery. The ability to work in a team environment and maintain a positive attitude in a dynamic and ever-changing environment is essential.
