Job Title: Hospital Food Services Manager

 

We are seeking a highly skilled Hospital Food Services Manager to oversee the operations of our patient dining services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our patients receive high-quality, nutritious meals in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and implement patient service programs based on medical direction, patient population, and contract
  • Hire, lead, direct, coach, train, and develop patient services managers and supervisors
  • Oversee evaluation of and discipline of patient food services employees, as applicable, and according to departmental policy
  • Monitor competency, productivity, and documentation accuracy of patient services managers and teams using necessary tools and resources
  • Visit patients on an assigned nursing unit or area to ensure that every patient is visited by a member of the management or professional team at least once during their hospital stay
  • Ensure patient services staff assists in achieving stated patient satisfaction goals
  • Communicate effectively with all team members, patients, and families through conferences, individual consultation, and committee participation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Hospitality Management, or related field, or equivalent
  • Minimum of five years' work experience with at least two years in healthcare, including one year in a managerial position
  • Certified Dietary Manager required if associate does not have a degree in Nutrition or Dietetics; Registered Dietitian preferred
  • ServSafe Certified
  • Some knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
  • Supervisory, leadership, management, and coaching skills
  • Communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to communicate on various levels, including management, client, customer, and associate levels
  • Financial, budgetary, accounting, and computational skills
  • Proficient computer skills, including various computer programs, Microsoft Office programs, email, and the Internet

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year
