We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist I to join our team at Kaiser Permanente in Wailuku, Hawaii. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic and patient-centered environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform radiologic examinations according to departmental protocols, ensuring accurate and high-quality imaging for patients.
- Position patients, provide immobilization devices as required, and select technical factors for optimal imaging.
- Review orders, correlate patient clinical history with exam being performed, and consult with attending Radiologists and Registered Nurses as needed.
- Follow all National Patient Safety Goals, ensuring patient safety and confidentiality.
- Assist with screening patients for contraindications, prepare sterile fields and contrast agents, and maintain adequate supplies during procedures.
- Operate and understand all features and performance capabilities of general radiology, fluoroscopy, and portable imaging systems.
- Post-process and review images as required, prepare images for Radiologist interpretation, and transmit images to the Diagnostic Imaging PACS system.
- Maintain working knowledge of all department equipment and devices, reporting equipment malfunctions and accidents as needed.
- Provide service-oriented communication with patients, explaining procedures and answering questions, and emphasize a personalized, individualized, compassionate patient care atmosphere.
- Apply appropriate measures for minimizing radiation exposure to patients and self, and record fluoroscopy time used during procedures.
- Function as part of the resuscitation team during Code Blue and/or Rapid Response Team situations.
- Maintain all materials needed and linen supply on a daily basis, and maintain general order and cleanliness of the assigned room.
- Rotate and share on-call responsibilities for General Radiology service areas.
- Pursue ongoing continuing education and attend departmental meetings and/or in-service presentations as needed.
- Associates degree in radiologic technology from an accredited school, or two (2) years of directly related experience.
- Radiographer License (Hawaii) required at hire.
- Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association.
- Radiologic Technologist Certification required at hire from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
