Job Summary:

As an MRI Technologist at Kaiser Permanente, you will be responsible for performing Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) examinations, providing assistance to physicians during exams, and recognizing and reporting patient emergency situations and/or MRI specific adverse events. This role requires a strong understanding of cross-sectional anatomy and the ability to tailor scan protocols to produce superior image quality.


Key Responsibilities:


Performs specialized MRI studies, positions patients, and provides immobilization means and patient counseling.
Selects appropriate protocols and instructs patients on exam requirements.
Maintains daily records of exams performed and ensures accuracy of information and data entry.
Post-processes digital images, including specific reconstructions, and prepares images for Radiologist interpretation.
Assures correct patient identification information is captured on all recorded images and captures required documentation in Radiology Information System (RIS).


Requirements:


Minimum two (2) years experience as a registered technologist.
Minimum one (1) year MRI experience as a registered technologist.
Associates degree in radiologic technology or two (2) years of experience in a directly related area.
Basic Life Support OR CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers certification.
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate - Magnetic Resonance Imaging.


Preferred Qualifications:


Minimum one (1) year Computed Tomography (CT) experience as a registered technologist, including experience or successful completion of training program (pre-hire, post-hire, or on-the-job) in area of specialty, if applicable.

MRI Certification from an accredited MRI program of technology.
