Job Summary

The Telecommunications Operator serves as a representative for Bon Secours, providing excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and staff. This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to multitask, and a professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Answers incoming calls and directs them to the appropriate department or individual with minimal errors.
  • Provides emergency assistance to hospital personnel and the general public, including Code Blue, Code Red, and Security alarms.
  • Maintains and updates current on-call schedules for the answering service and various hospital departments.
  • Contacts on-call personnel in a calm and efficient manner, ensuring timely response to emergencies.
  • Displays adequate knowledge of BSV and medical terminology, staying abreast of changes and updates within the organization.
  • Promotes teamwork and cooperation among coworkers, attending daily team huddles and staff meetings.
  • Maintains confidentiality of patient, employee, and operations data, adhering to HIPAA compliance laws and Bon Secours protocols.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED preferred.
  • Minimum six months of recent customer service experience in a call center environment, with medical call center experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive, emotional, and crisis situations.
  • Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and exercise critical thinking skills in emergency situations.
  • Availability to work all shifts, including inclement weather, and rotate on-call duties.

Estimated Salary

The estimated annual salary for this position is $45,000 - $60,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
