Job Title: Director of Tax, Americas

Aveva is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director of Tax to lead our tax function in the Americas region. As a key member of our global tax team, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of tax compliance, planning, and reporting for the Americas region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the company's tax position while ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Lead tax planning initiatives to minimize the company's tax liabilities and maximize tax efficiencies.
  • Provide guidance and support to other departments on tax-related matters, including structuring transactions, contract review, and financial planning.
  • Manage the Global transfer pricing policy for the Americas to ensure compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Strategic management of indirect tax, such as sales tax, VAT/GST and use tax, governance and compliance and promote automation.
  • Manage the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns, including income, sales/use, property, and other applicable taxes.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate completion of tax filings and compliance requirements.
  • Manage relationships with tax authorities and respond to inquiries or audits as necessary.
  • Supervise and develop a team of tax professionals, providing mentorship, guidance, and opportunities for growth.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Extensive experience (15+ years) in corporate tax, with a focus on US tax and international laws and regulations.
  • Strong technical knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance and reporting requirements.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing tax strategies that drive business value.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience managing and developing a team of tax professionals.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Experience with tax software and ERP systems; proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
