Manufacturing Automation Specialist

Tesla is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to lead the design and implementation of automated material handling systems for new and existing factories and programs. This position will be based in Gigafactory Texas near Austin, TX.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop automated material handling solutions to optimize material flows throughout the facilities.
  • Drive material flow strategies and dynamic manufacturing systems to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Develop analytical models to establish design criteria and overall system performance criteria.
  • Investigate and research advanced technologies to optimize material handling equipment and systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement automated material handling systems.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in automated material handling and process equipment design or development.
  • Knowledge of basic controls and robot systems, including AB/Siemens PLCs and Fanuc Robots.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar modeling software.
  • Ability to lead projects from concept to installation and hand-over in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of material flow strategies and dynamic manufacturing systems with MES.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
