Manufacturing Engineer

Job Summary:
Tesla is seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to lead the design and implementation of automated material handling systems for new and existing factories and programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop solutions for efficient and reliable material flow to Tesla manufacturing lines
- Manage and own automated material handling projects from concept to installation and hand-over
- Design and implement automated material handling equipment, including automated storage systems, final assembly conveyance, and material handling robot cells
- Provide mentorship and guidance to other engineers and stakeholders within Tesla
- Ensure MFE system designs meet Tesla's goals and objectives
- Drive material flow strategies and dynamic manufacturing systems
- Develop analytical models to establish design criteria and overall system performance criteria
- Investigate and research advanced technologies to optimize material handling equipment and systems
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
- ~2+ years of automated material handling and process equipment design or development experience
- Knowledge of basic controls and robot systems, such as AB/Siemens PLCs and Fanuc Robots
- Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA or similar modeling software
- Ability to lead a project from concept through to installation and hand-over
- Knowledge of and experience with material flow strategies and dynamic manufacturing systems with MES
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
