Position Summary
The Pediatric Feeding Specialist is tasked with assessing and treating children experiencing feeding challenges.
Feeding challenges may encompass a child's ability to suck, chew, swallow, refusal to eat, food aversions, or limited dietary intake.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Delivering therapy aimed at helping patients meet their feeding objectives.
- Conducting screenings and assessments for children facing feeding issues.
- Evaluating patients and developing treatment plans utilizing approved assessment tools.
- Adhering to safety protocols and risk management policies.
- Preparing necessary documentation, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, in a timely manner as per regulations.
- Collaborating with other rehabilitation team members to design treatment programs tailored to individual needs and ensure comprehensive service delivery.
- Maintaining and utilizing therapy equipment, and requesting supplies as necessary.
- Fostering positive relationships with healthcare professionals, patients, and their families.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in Speech Therapy or Occupational Therapy.
Preferred experience in feeding therapy.
Current certification and licensure in Speech Language Pathology or Occupational Therapy as per state regulations.
Valid Driver's License required.
