SUMMARY

The Facilities Maintenance Assistant is responsible for the systematic cleaning and upkeep of educational facilities, which includes floors, walls, doors, restrooms, walkways, entrances, and furnishings. This role involves monitoring the premises for any damages, engaging in preventive maintenance tasks, and advising the supervisor on necessary repairs. A solid understanding of cleaning techniques and the proper use of cleaning equipment is essential. The Assistant will uphold the District's core values while demonstrating professionalism, fostering a positive culture, and delivering excellent customer service.

  • Address the challenges of ensuring clean and secure facilities.
  • Work collaboratively with peers and supervisors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Regular attendance is crucial.
  • Adhere to the established cleaning schedule.
  • Execute general cleaning duties.
  • Conduct window cleaning tasks.
  • Restock restroom supplies as needed.
  • Ensure the security of the building.
  • Maintain the grounds surrounding the facilities.
  • Report any safety or maintenance issues.
  • Uphold confidentiality at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements

  • Must possess legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Valid Driver's License or State Identification Card is required.

Verifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred.

  • Familiarity with safety protocols and the operation of cleaning equipment.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with colleagues.
  • Capable of communicating clearly and following directions.

PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES/DEMANDS

  • The employee may occasionally lift and transport items weighing up to 50 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Possible exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and potential interruptions.
