Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Support Specialist to join our team. As a Medical Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing clinical support to patients in our physician practice under the supervision of our physicians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide continuity and appropriate care to patients
- Operate or learn to operate various medical equipment, including pulse oximeters, ear syringes, cryosurgery instruments, EKG machines, nebulizers, and portable oxygen tanks
- Administer or learn to administer vaccines and injectable medications
- Proficiently use Electronic Health Records
- Perform and document lab results
- Obtain prior authorization for medications, testing, and procedures
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required within 30 days of hire
- Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant certification required
- Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification required within 30 days of hire
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a family care or internal medicine practice
