Job Summary

The Metrology Equipment Engineer opportunity is in a high-volume semiconductor wafer manufacturing environment. As a key member of the Equipment Services organization, you will be responsible for maintaining, initiating, and implementing technical improvements to ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, cost-competitive technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Equipment Services organization by analyzing and resolving equipment performance issues.
  • Develop and implement maintenance procedures to improve tool availability and reduce downtime.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and process engineering teams to identify and reduce recurrent machine faults.
  • Source and install new equipment to improve tool performance and reduce costs.
  • Develop and train technicians and peers on equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Implement Six-Sigma statistical process control methods to improve tool utilization and availability.
  • Participate in and/or lead cross-functional and lean activity teams to drive process improvements.
Requirements
  • BS in an engineering discipline.
  • 3 years minimum experience in equipment engineering in a high-volume semiconductor manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience in at least one or more of the following tools/processes preferred: KLA-Altair, AIT, Archer, Starlite, SEM, SP1, UV, RS, Wafer sorters, scopes, SEMV, IRIS, NSX.
  • Ability to generate, analyze, and interpret equipment performance data and produce a timely action plan to resolve recurring equipment failures.
  • Demonstrated presentation skills to train others and present complex datasets and equipment problems/solutions to diverse audiences.
  • Competent in troubleshooting problems and capable of applying logic to isolate and repair them.
  • Ability to deal with multiple issues and shifting priorities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with manufacturing and process engineering to deal with these issues and priorities.
  • Good foundational problem-solving skills with creative solutions and out-of-the-box thinking.
  • Self-motivated; able to take initiative and effectively prioritize work for self.
  • A strong desire to help create a positive, winning, world-class working environment.
