About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Equipment Specialist to join our team at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing medical equipment repair and maintenance services in a fast-paced healthcare environment.


Your primary focus will be on performing substantial maintenance, safety testing, and routine repairs on medical equipment. You will also be responsible for prioritizing your workload effectively, completing necessary record keeping, and solving customer service issues with minimal supervision.


To be successful in this role, you will need a minimum of 3 years' experience servicing technical equipment and an Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. You must also be able to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and communicate effectively with teammates and colleagues.


Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance, safety tests, and calibration for medical equipment.
  • Provide equipment repair services throughout the responsible area.
  • Prioritize workload effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Complete necessary record keeping for work orders received and/or finished.
  • Solve customer service issues and complaints with minimal supervision.
  • Assist in ordering parts and supplies necessary for servicing equipment.
  • Perform cross-training to other technicians on acquired skills.
  • Effectively communicate and partner with teammates and colleagues.

Requirements

Minimum of 3 years' experience servicing technical equipment.


Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.


Intermediate language ability: ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and communicate effectively.


Basic math ability: ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.


Basic reasoning ability: ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.


Familiarity with MS Office Suite and internet-based applications.
