About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Manager to join our team at Pursuit Collection. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the daily maintenance, landscaping, and repair of our lodge property and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage the daily maintenance, landscaping, and repair of lodge property and equipment.
  • Direct and manage the overall energy-efficient operation of all lodge equipment and ensure proper preventative maintenance of lodge property.
  • Provide guidance and tools to encourage staff engagement, success, and effectiveness.
  • Supervise a diverse staff responsible for maintenance, landscaping, and janitorial services.
  • Develop, maintain, and implement training for safety standards.
  • Create, ensure, and effectively manage the budget for the maintenance department.
  • Perform standard daily lodge usage and safety checks.
  • Respond to or delegate maintenance requests in a timely manner.
  • Communicate daily with front desk and respond to immediate needs.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and precautions, including the use of all tools and equipment and chemicals.
  • Oversee and manage the maintenance of grounds and landscaping, following lodge standards.
  • Continually evaluate and initiate improvements to procedures and processes that increase efficiency and save man-hours.
Requirements
  • Able to work independently, in a team environment, and with minimal supervision.
  • Able to make decisions, solve problems, and exercise good judgment; able to work under pressure and prioritize workload.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to be empathetic with respect to guests' and staffs' needs and problems.
  • Able to work closely with all levels of the Alaska Collection staff and management and the general public, including professionals and executives from a variety of companies.
  • Able to follow complex oral and written instructions.
  • Working knowledge of maintenance and safety standards and requirements in the hotel industry.
  • Must be able to push, pull, carry, and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, and greater weights on an occasional basis.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Training in general mechanical, boiler maintenance, plumbing, construction, and electrical maintenance preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in building maintenance.
  • 2 years of supervisory experience; or any combination of training and experience that provides the necessary skills, knowledge, and abilities.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Must have a valid US Driver's License with a clean driving record.

As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work in a beautiful and unique location. Our lodge is situated in a stunning natural setting, surrounded by trees, lakes, and blue-bird skies. You will have the chance to explore and see amazing scenery and wildlife within the last frontier.

You will also have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of team members from across the globe and participate in various team events. However, please note that this role requires a physical working environment with walking, stair climbing, bending, reaching, and lifting (up to 50 pounds with assistance) as required.

Compensation

The estimated salary for this role is $70,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience. This is a competitive salary for a Maintenance Manager in the hotel industry, taking into account the cost of living in the area and the level of responsibility required for the role.
