Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Collaborate with parents, IEP team members, and other stakeholders to create and implement IEPs that meet the unique needs of each student.
- Manage Special Education Paperwork: Ensure accurate and timely completion of all special education paperwork, adhering to relevant regulations and guidelines.
- Establish a Conducive Learning Environment: Create a safe, respectful, and engaging classroom environment that fosters academic growth and social development.
- Employ Effective Instructional Strategies: Utilize a range of instructional techniques and media to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with moderate and severe disabilities.
- Certification and Licensure: Eligible for appropriate Maine Department of Education certification (282/286).
- Criminal History Record Check: Completion of a criminal history record check, including fingerprints, on file with the Maine Department of Education.
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in education or a related field. Master's degree in a related area preferred. Experience working with students with moderate and severe disabilities, as well as Applied Behavior Analysis and Positive Behavior Support training, is required.
