Position Overview: The Lead Teacher for Early Childhood Education will play a crucial role in developing, overseeing, and assessing age-appropriate educational activities within a licensed childcare environment. Key Responsibilities:
  • Classroom Management: Design and execute lesson plans tailored to the unique needs and interests of each child. Maintain accurate daily documentation, including attendance and activity logs.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant childcare regulations and quality standards.
  • Attend to each child's individual needs, including proper care procedures for diapering, feeding, and emotional support.
  • Conduct assessments and communicate any developmental concerns to the Program Administrator, referring to community resources as necessary.
  • Foster a warm and inviting atmosphere for both children and their families.
Parent Communication:
  • Engage with parents daily, providing support, educational resources, and positive feedback about their child's progress.
  • Be open to scheduling conferences and classroom visits as requested by parents or administrators.
Additional Duties:
  • Maintain a professional development registry and complete all required training and certifications.
  • Serve as the primary contact for communications regarding child screenings and data entry.
  • Facilitate screenings in early literacy and numeracy, ensuring parents are informed about the process and its importance.
  • Complete necessary training for data entry systems and participate in relevant meetings.
  • Implement transition strategies to ensure a smooth progression for children entering kindergarten.
  • Promote the values of diversity and inclusion, celebrating the richness of a multicultural society.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
  • Must possess a Child Care Professional Level 3 certification. A minimum of two years of experience in a licensed childcare setting is required, along with certifications in First Aid, Communicable Disease, and Child Abuse Recognition.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and other professionals.
  • Exhibit patience, energy, and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong understanding of child development practices and safety protocols.
  • Knowledge of state childcare regulations and educational standards.
