Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Head Start Teacher to join our team at the YMCA of Central Ohio. As a Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and inclusive environment that promotes the social, emotional, and cognitive development of young children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the Head Start Performance Standards and the YMCA's philosophy of education.
  • Provide high-quality instruction and care to a diverse group of children, including those with special needs.
  • Collaborate with teaching team members to ensure a cohesive and effective learning environment.
  • Monitor and record child progress, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and families, promoting a positive and supportive relationship.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development, staying current with best practices in early childhood education.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (Associate's degree with current enrollment in a Bachelor's program may be considered).
  • Experience working with young children, preferably in a Head Start or similar program.
  • Knowledge of Head Start and State Child Care Licensing regulations.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people and foster a collaborative team approach.
