Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Credentialing and Enrollment Specialist to join our team at Virginia Jobs. As a key member of our enrollment team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and accurate enrollment of healthcare providers with government and managed care payors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the enrollment process for new physicians and allied health professionals, including tracking applications and ensuring timely issuance of provider numbers.
  • Work with the Insurance Processing Unit to resolve provider issue denials and ensure accurate billing information.
  • Coordinate with UPG Legal, UVA HR, and UVA Clinical Staff Office to facilitate timely enrollment of leased professional providers.
  • Authorize updates to the provider professional billing record in EPIC and maintain confidentiality of credentialing and enrollment information.
  • Provide backup coverage to the enrollment team and assist with projects related to new practice locations.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 5 years' prior experience in a healthcare environment, with experience working accurately under time pressures and anticipating end users' problems.
  • Intermediate knowledge of and experience utilizing a personal computer, word processing, and spreadsheet skills.
