The Lead Cook at Aramark is a key member of our culinary team, responsible for preparing and cooking food to the highest standards. With a focus on food safety and quality, this role requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Schedule and assign daily work activities to staff and supervise the completion of tasks.
  • Train and guide staff on job duties, standard food safety and sanitation procedures, cooking methods, and equipment operation.
  • Cook and prepare food following production guidelines and standardized recipes.
  • Set up workstations with all necessary ingredients and equipment.
  • Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items.
  • Safely use all food utensils, including knives.
  • Operate equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, and other kitchen appliances.
  • Bake, roast, broil, steam, and use various cooking methods on meats, vegetables, and other foods.
  • Arrange, garnish, and portion food according to established guidelines.
  • Properly store food by following food safety policies and procedures.
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils.
  • Maintain excellent customer service with a positive attitude towards guests, customers, clients, and coworkers.
  • Follow Aramark safety policies and procedures, including food safety and sanitation.
  • Ensure the security of company assets.
  • Produce and maintain work schedules and prepare production records.

  • Previous supervisor experience in a related role is preferred.
  • Experience as a cook or related role is required.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision is required.
  • Proven knowledge of basic food preparation principles, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations is required.
  • Food safety certification is required.
  • Demonstrates basic math and counting skills.
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
