Culinary Team Member

The Culinary Team Member will support our dining establishment during both first and second shifts. This role typically involves working an average of 32-36 hours per week, with opportunities to take on additional shifts. The team member is tasked with preparing and/or overseeing the preparation of meals, adhering to all relevant sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards while following established food production protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a customer-centric approach while executing all responsibilities.
- Prepare or oversee the preparation of meals using established production methods.
- Assess the quantity and type of food and supplies needed based on production systems.
- Ensure the timely availability of supplies and food or approved substitutes for preparation.
- Set up serving stations; serve or ensure the proper serving of meals in the dining area.
- Adhere to established sanitation, personal hygiene, and health standards.
- Implement proper food preparation and handling techniques.
- Store food safely and appropriately, labeling items with dates.
- Operate kitchen equipment, including stoves, ovens, grills, fryers, microwaves, and chef knives.
- Report any necessary equipment repairs and maintenance to the supervisor.
- Prepare all meals according to standard recipes and specific dietary requirements.
- Plan food production to align with meal serving times, ensuring quality, temperature, and presentation are maintained.
- Portion food for serving.
- Keep the workspace organized and clean at all times; maintain equipment used in food preparation.
- Maintain daily production logs.
- Conduct food temperature checks prior to service.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Participate in all scheduled employee meetings and contribute suggestions for improvement.
Qualifications and Skills
- ServSafe Certification.
- Previous experience in a food service role is preferred.
- High school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Strong customer focus.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
- Skills in stress management and maintaining composure.
- Capability to operate industrial equipment and lift loads up to 50 lbs.
- Manual dexterity, auditory and visual skills, and the ability to follow written instructions and procedures are required.
- Willingness to work in an environment with heat, steam, fire, and noise.
